Stanley T. Bielak, 91, of Camillus died peacefully in his sleep on Monday at Upstate Medical Center’s Community Campus. Stanley worked at Syracuse China for 47 years as a mold maker before his retirement in 1990. A veteran, Stanley served in the Marines during World War II as an airplane mechanic. Stanley was a lifelong communicant of the Basilica of the Sacred Heart. He was a member of several groups associated with the Parish, including the Holy Name Society and the Sacred Heart Seniors. Stanley was an avid sports fan, especially of the Syracuse University men’s basketball and football teams. Following his retirement from Syracuse China, Stanley spent several years watching his two grandsons after school. He became recognized as the No.1 fan of every sport played in the street or yard, and was known to partake if his talents were needed. Stanley’s most endearing quality was his selflessness, always putting others before himself. Stanley is predeceased by his wife of 54 years, Virginia Maria Bielak; two sons, Michael A. and Gerald I; three brothers and two sisters. Surviving are two sons: Gerald Bielak II of North Syracuse and Mark (Santina) Bielak of Syracuse; two grandsons: Michael S. Bielak and Anthony Bielak; two great grandchildren: Olivia Egan Bielak and Scarlett Virginia Bielak; and a sister, Ann Rogalski of Camillus. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, March 3, at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Burial will take place at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Geddes.
