Robert E. Grudzinski

Robert E. Grudzinski, 67, beloved husband, father, and grandfather went home to the Lord on Friday. Robert started his career as an auditor at Lincoln Bank and Chase Manhattan Bank in Syracuse. He graduated from Onondaga Community College with an Associate’s Degree in Business and from Syracuse University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Accounting. He also worked at PEACE Inc. and later took white collar crime courses at the University of Delaware. Robert committed his career to fighting financial crime as a forensic accountant for the Onondaga County District Attorney’s Office, and retired in 2010 as a Senior Investigator with 28 years of service. In 1996, he was honored with the Jim Stapleton Award for Meritorious Service Above and Beyond the Call of Duty. Robert was also a member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. He was active in the Polish community. Robert is survived by his cherished wife of 43 years, Cynthia; daughters Sarah Grudzinski and Suzanne (Steven) Ostrander; grandson, Caleb Ostrander; sister, Mary (Terry Richards) Grudzinski; brothers, Thomas (Theresa) Grudzinski and Gerald (Nancy) Grudzinski, and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call Tuesday, May 1, from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM, at the Giminski-Wysocki Funeral Home; 1320 W. Genesee Street, Syracuse; followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 AM at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus; 927 Park Ave. Syracuse. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Lakeland.
