Andrew "Andy" Bruce Smith

Andrew "Andy" Bruce Smith, 86, of Camillus, died on Monday, July 6, 2015 at Upstate Community Hospital. He was born in Syracuse and attended Blodgett Vocational High School (Class of '47). He also attended Le Moyne College and graduated in 1956 with a degree in Industrial Relations. Andy was a military veteran, having proudly served his country in the US Army from 1947 to 1948, before moving on to serve in the US Marine Corps (Korean War) from 1950- 1954. After serving in the Armed Forces and receiving his college degree, he worked for the Western Electric Company in Labor Relations. He retired from Western Electric after 30 years. Andy was a member of the Solvay Tigers, the Korean War Veterans of Tipperary Hill Post and the American Legion. Surviving are his sisters: Lottie Szczurek of Lakeland, and Genevieve Speach of Liverpool and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Andy requested to be cremated and have no funeral services. Contributions may be made in Andy's name to the Solvay Tigers of Solvay, New York.
